  • To Testify

This I feel called to do.

    To write, to tell

    The story of how God

    Made a way through.

    Through the impossible–

    Through the unthinkable–

    Through the shocking

    And the unforeseen.

    When I felt alive

And when I succumbed to death–

Through my failures and my flaws

    He is faithful.

    Of this I am convinced.

It is not in myself that I trust.

    For my faith originated

    And is completed

    Only in Jesus Christ.

I live this life, I say,

As an offering each and every day

To the one whom I belong to

    And knows the eternal way.

My God has done great things.

    He surely has.

This life He is now leading me in

Is surely a testament to that.

  • The heart behind Testify is to create a platform where every day people can share testimonies and stories of how Jesus Christ (Yeshua) has mightily showed up in their life. The hope is that throughout these posts, our souls are reminded of what God has done, who He is and how He will move in those same faithful ways in the future.

God’s word says, “Blessed are those who observe his testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart” (Psalm 119:2).

It is important to note that the word here for “observe” comes from the word “nāṣar” in Hebrew. “Nāṣar” means “to watch over, guard with fidelity to preserve and maintain (i.e. exercising great care and vigilance to keep intact)”. How amazing! When we gain context over certain words, we realize these words in scripture are much richer than we initially realize. In the context of this verse, the word “observe” here does not simply mean “to watch”, but instead it means “to guard carefully so as to vigilantly preserve something’s integrity”. It takes such great intentionality! Therefore, if we revisit the text, we might read it with new eyes now.

“Blessed are those who [watch over, guard with vigilance to preserve and maintain] his testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart” (Psalm 119:2).

This tells me that when we carefully and continually remind ourselves of God’s testimonies and how He has moved in the past, we powerfully remind our souls of what He will continue to do in the future. For it is truthfully spoken that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). This is what Testify is all about! So, let’s sharpen and encourage each other’s faith by sharing the ways Jesus Christ has moved in our lives.

*If you feel led, email me a story/testimony of how Jesus Christ has shown up in your life. It will surely bring encouragement to this community, and it may be the very words someone needs to hear!

    Blessings,
